Passion of Kerala - Banana Leaf Rice

If you have stay long enough in Malaysia, perhaps having food on banana leaf is not something very new to you. In fact, Banana leaves is a flexible and waterproof material that commonly used in Indian and Filipino cuisine.

In Penang, that is a restaurant located at Gelugor serving such a nice and delicious South Indian cuisine - banana leaf rice, named Passion of Kerala.

The taste of the food served here are amazing, I used to be there on Thursday to enjoy their vege set and additional dish such as fried chicken and the crispy bitter gourd fries. Overall,  it is absolutely outstanding.

I would suggest that you might want to go earlier for lunch during week day, at about 11:45am to avoid ended up in the waiting list, though, the restaurant stated their open hour as 12pm -3:30pm officially. The restaurant always filled due to the Penang FIZ (Free Industrial Zone) workers from different Factories used to have their lunch there, and sometime, they bring along their counterpart from US or Europe.

Address:

Opening times: Daily, 12noon–3.30pm, 6.30pm–10.30pm
